A dear friend of ours was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis about a year and a half ago. She was given the news that she needed a double lung transplant in order for her to have a healthy and long life. She went through many tests, for an extended amount of time, to determine if she could get onto a donor list for new lungs. She made the donor list and the wait began. It has been a long wait, but on June 12th, yesterday, she received a call that would be a gift of a lifetime, “New Lungs”! Marylou and her husband quickly responded and arrived at Mass General in anticipation to a healthy beginning. As of today our dear friend has a new set of lungs with a new quality of life ahead of her. We are so proud of her endurance and courage in everything she has gone through to get to this point. We wish her a quick recovery, so that she can be back with the family she loves so much. We love you Mary Lou!!!
