Happy Mother’s Day

Image

Happy Mother’s Day to all those special women that take the time to make everyone’s day complete! Being a mom is the most rewarding job on this planet. I am proud of my family and take such pride in watching them grow into the adults they’ve become. Being a mom is a 24/7 job in which I can be proud. It has taught me not to take anything for granted  and emotions I never knew I had. Yes, I still worry about my children every day, even though they are 25 and 26. I will never stop worrying and will always put them first in my life. Nurturing my kids to what they are today puts a smile on my face and reminds me just how lucky I am in being the mom I am today. Happy Mother’s Day!!

Sunny Pumpkin

A new painting has been born!! Not only did I paint the picture; I picked the pumpkin and the sunflower from my garden! Talk about “Homemade”:)  I am very pleased with this painting and love the colors of fall that show. This was the only pumpkin that had the little knobs on it and of course I had to pick that one to paint.  I know that I could have made it easier on myself by picking a smooth one out of the bunch, but for some reason my brain always wants to challenge me! It seems to happen a lot, but personally I don’t like taking the easy road all the time. Things like this painting help me to think outside of the box. I learned to make little knobs better (there was enough of them!) and I learned what other colors to use other than orange and black. It is neat to see the end result. Enjoy the weekend and Happy Fall!

A Unique Geranium View

I had to look at this geranium differently.  I took this picture standing on the top rung of a ladder, then looked down and snapped this shot. I couldn’t see painting the same old Geranium pot and leaves, so I ventured to a new plateau! I’ll be sure to paste the finished product along with the seaside painting as well. I love different and unique views 🙂

Here is some interesting insights on the color red…

Red Energy

Red is associated with fiery heat and warmth. It can also mean danger (burning).

Red is the color of blood, and as such has strong symbolism as life and vitality. It brings focus to the essence of life and living with emphasis on survival. Red is also the color of passion and lust.

Put some red in your life when you want:

  • increased enthusiasm and interest
  • more energy
  • action and confidence to go after your dreams
  • protection from fears and anxieties

Brown Eyed Girl

It’s no secret…I love flowers in every color, shape and form! I especially love getting close-ups, because they are just as interesting and beautiful on the inside than on the out. (Huh, sounds like something we would say in expressing our feelings for others we know and love 😉 ) Flowers create a sense of happiness; it’s a pick-me-up and they light up any room we put them in. Back in the day, when I was in elementary school, I had a teacher who had a dancing flower on her desk. Whenever any student was having a rough day, she would just tell us to look at it and it would make us smile/laugh.  It always did with me.  To this day I look at “Brown Eyed Girls”, like the one I’ve painted, or sunflowers and I think back to that point in time.  Sometimes I would just love to put googly eyes on all of those flowers! 🙂  I don’t like picking  flowers often because they always end up dying. On a positive note…they do produce seeds for the following  year.  I finished this painting a short time ago, and I absolutely love it. I hope you enjoy it as well!  Have an awesome day!  Debby

Fredrick’s Flower

Does anyone else have spring on their mind? I can’t wait to see the lady bugs on my sunflowers, and the dragonflies roaming the yard yearning for companionship after a long winter.  I can’t wait to dig into the dirt and garden to my heart’s content! Enjoy my painting…there’s more to come!
